Louella F. Balsamo

Louella F. Balsamo, age 80, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Sidney J. Fortier and Amelia Cammarata Fortier, her husband of 50 years, Salvador J. Balsamo, Sr., and her sons, Derrick and Michael Balsamo. She is survived by her son, Salvador "Sal" J. Balsamo, Jr., (Tina), her grandchild Lisa A. Balsamo, sister, Mary Lamare, along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

She was an AT&T telephone pioneer for over 30 years. Lou was a very kind lady who loved her seafood, the New Orleans Saints, Mardi Gras, and her animals. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1:00 PM in the Leitz-Eagan Chapel.
