Louis E. King went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana by the late Elizabeth C. LaDiana (Vito), and Clifford J. King (Catherine), and resided in Metairie, Louisiana for most of his adult life.
Louie, an Air Force veteran, became a Fire Captain with the Jefferson Parish Fire Department where he retired after nearly thirty years of proudly serving the community. Louie will be fondly remembered for his outgoing personality and his infectious sense of humor. He loved fishing and spent countless hours trolling for seafood. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was survived by his loving wife Mickey B. King, daughters; Cherie K. Borgardt (Gary), Christy K. Shapiro (Brent), and son; Mark A. King (Jessica), his grandchildren; Patrick Shapiro, Chad Borgardt (Aimee), Emily Skomer (Jordan), Paige Borgardt, Jacob Shapiro, Brooke Borgardt, and Eli Shapiro, and his brother; Clifford King (Antoinette). In addition to his parents; he is preceded in death by his beloved grandson; Sean A. Borgardt.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service celebrating his life at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 11:00 am, a visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. An inurnment will take place at a later date at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be offered at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
