He was a lead bartender for Sheraton Hotel in New Orleans for many years where he enjoyed meeting and talking to people of all cultures and walks of life. There, he enjoyed the lighthearted camaraderie of his coworkers. Luis was the ultimate Saints fan since that first time when his Dad took him to see his first game in the old Tulane stadium. He persevered as a loyal season ticket holder for over 45 years. The 2010 Saints win in the Super Bowl was one of the happiest days of his life!
After attending St. Mary Magdalen grammar school, he graduated from Rummel High School where he made several lifelong friends. Luis dearly loved his family and his little dog, “Tiger”. We will sorely miss his endless optimism and love of the Saints, but most of all, we will miss his exuberant smile, his unlimited generosity, and his deep, genuine love for his friends and family.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 10021 Jefferson Hwy. in River Ridge on March 21, 2026, at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Masses in his name would be appreciated.
