Grandpa, I am so sorry that you passed alone. I called the nursing home several times to try to speak to you so that you would know that we were there for you. Unfortunately, they wouldn't call us back. I called the night before you passed. They told me the nurse would call me back and let me speak to you. I never got to speak to you. I will never get over this grief of knowing that I called to try and speak to you the night you died. My dad showed up to try and see you, but they wouldn't allow him in. I am so sorry about the circumstances of your passing. I hope that you are in peace in heaven with all of your siblings, your son Anthony, and your parents. You were an amazing Grandfather in many ways. You were so hardworking, so giving and helpful to others, you were intelligent and knew how to speak fluent French and taught me Spanish, and you taught me the importance of always putting God first. I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with you on Christmas day a few months ago. I love you, I miss you, and I pray that you are pain free watching over the family and Grandma. Thank you for raising my mother, your oldest child, to be the hardworking and strong woman that she is today.

Dad you were always there for my family when we needed anything. I’m sorry we could not visit you before you left us but circumstances wouldn’t allow it. The horrible disease dementia robbed you of your memories but we have ours. Be at peace and be with your mom , dad siblings and Anthony. We love you! God bless you! Cathy, Joe Maria , Lindsay and Kasey.

My dad was a hard worker, committed to providing for his family. He often worked two jobs to support us. He loved fishing and took us boys off often. I am the man I am today because of the pains he took to teach me the skills I would need as an adult. My family and I will miss him very much.
