Margaret Prestenberg Bailey, age 73, passed away quietly on Sunday, August 3, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Milton Joseph Bailey. Mother of Michael Louis Bailey (wife, Rebecca). Grandmother of Alexander and Sally Bailey. Sister of the late Louis William Prestenberg, Jr. Sister-in-law of Shirley Prestenberg. Daughter of the late Louis William Prestenberg, Sr. and Mabel Hummel Prestenberg. Mrs. Bailey retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 35 years of employment. She was a member of the St. Jude Society St Mary Magdalen Church and was a parishioner of St. Benilde Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at St. Benilde Church, 1901 Division Street in Metairie on Thursday, August 14, 2014 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the St. Jude Society St. Mary Magdalen Church, 6425 West Metairie Avenue, Metairie, LA 70003.
