A native New Orleanian, Margaret was the daughter of Ralph H. Butler Sr. and Margaret Fasulla Butler of New Orleans. She attended Fortier High School and was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, sister-in-law, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Once her children entered high school, she went to work for Ralph
& Kacoo’s management for nearly 2 decades until her battle with
cancer forced her into early retirement. Margaret, who was lovingly
known as “Jellybean” to those closest to her, was known for her love of
life and cherished time spent with her family and friends traveling. She
especially enjoyed taking tropical cruises, casino trips and excursions to
the family fishing camp, “Frick and Frack” in Little Woods, La.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Joseph G. Grey Sr., her
Parents, and her two brothers, John J. Butler and Ralph H. Butler Jr.
She is survived by three children, Michele Kidd Sutton (Wayne Richard
Sutton), Raymond Lee Kidd III (Lisa Holmes Kidd) and Joseph Gerard
Grey Jr.; four grandchildren, Ryan Logan Kidd, Morgan Elizabeth
Kidd, Reid Richard Sutton and Brook Edward Sutton; and three great-
grandchildren, Hannah Marie Sutton, Megan Elizabeth Sutton and
Chloe Brook Sutton; a loving sister, Jackie Butler Wilcox; and
many nieces and nephews.
She was a devout Christian and will be missed by all who knew and
loved her.
Margaret’s family wishes to thank the loving and compassionate staff
of North Oaks Hospice, the physicians and staff of North Oaks Medical
Center and the caregivers of Live Oak Village.
