Mrs Margaret was like my grandma she was the best she was there for me when i lost my grandma i really miss her i wish i was there for her

Ms Margaret was the Director at Kingsley House when I was employed there in 1967. Nothing but fun memories doing fun raising events(cake sales, etc.) back in the day. I was the charperson for the Walt Disney funraiser that made the Times Picayune. My friend was Ms. Margaret and Ms. Myrtle along with Dean, Ms. Ruby and so on. I recall the time I ask Ms. Margaret for a raise for all of the Teacher Aide and she listen to what we had to say and finally after listening we received our raise.  Thanks Ms. Margaret for All the work and dedication to the children for many years.

The memories I have in my heart of Miss Margaret will always keep me smiling. She was a lifelong friend of my family (Clara and Joseph Menant) My Mom and Dad spent many happy times camping in Fairview Camp grounds along with,Mr Ernie and Mr Sidney Carter. She was a wonderful,funny,caring,and compassionate angel. She always made the best cookies and would always show up a few days before Christmas with some of her homemade treats along with her smile . I love you my angel and always will.

So very sorry for your loss. Ms. Margaret was a wonderful woman. Her dry sense of humor always made me laugh. My mother loved spending time with her.    She will truly be missed.

      Ms. Margaret has been a part of our family (Sidney and Gerry Carter) for many years (probably around 40).  We met her and Mr. Ernie while Dad was camping at Fairview in Madisonville.  I could repeat many of the things that Marti wrote about her.  She was generous, loving, and accepting of others.  I loved her cackle (laughter).  She would pick up donuts on her way to Mom's house and they would drink their coffee and visit.  She wanted to do whatever she could for Mom as she was her friend and didn't want or expect anything in return.  She would just say "I love that woman to death; she's my friend and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for her".  What a treasure she was to us and my Mom is sad that she won't see her friend anymore. Just a few short weeks ago, I brought Mom to visit with Ms. Margaret and took them for a ride to see some of the changes in the areas.  She enjoyed visiting with Mom and thanked me for bringing her friend to visit. She never complained about anything and told my mom "it's called getting old" and then there would be her cackle.

Dear Larry, Karen, and Family,
Words cannot express the loss I know we all feel at this time, nor can they truly say all the things that are in our hearts. Margaret has been an integral part of my life, from a 2-year old in kindergarten (where I  insisted that my Mom invite Margaret, Ernie, and you to our home), throughout all my "stints on the wall" at Kingsley House, our Family Mardi Gras celebrations, camping at Fairview State Park, all the family vacations and holidays, the Christmas cookie bakes...the list goes on and on. She taught me to cook, to read a recipe, to sew, to craft, to live, and to love unconditionally. Her laugh was infectious...her smile always warm and welcoming...her enthusiasm and wonder, that of a curious child.  

She had the patience of Jobe and a spiritual foundation that never wavered. She was always game for a new adventure and the first to say "I'm in" for any project or trip I ever mentioned. She was a tireless worker, never wanting to take credit for anything herself but always there to support her friends and causes. To look at her calendar was an inspiration to us all as it showed her commitment to her family and the community in which she was such a vital part. She was always working...even after retirement...whether with the Madisonville Garden Club, the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum, or just in her garden. Although she received numerous achievement awards, she was never one to brag or boast. 

She was my Mom's best friend, my sister's mentor, my brothers God Mother, my daughter's role model...my teacher, my friend, and most of all, my "Other Mother." I know that she had a positive impact on everyone who ever knew her and was an inspiration to us all. I will miss her dearly.

What wonderful memories I have of Mrs. Margaret, Kingsley House and the nursery school. The LeBlanc Family was a big part of making Kingsley House a great place to be a part of for myself and all the neighborhood children. My prayers go out to Larry and his family, all other family members and friends at this time.

Dear Larry and Family,
Aunt Margaret was truly an "Angel on Earth". She has been a mentor to me for more than 50 years. She was the inspiration that led me to become an educator and her beliefs which included "Coloring Outside The Lines" guided my practice and have been shared with countless educators that I have been blessed to support. Realizing that I was only one of the thousands that she inspired, it is amazing to think of how many lives have been changed by this truly amazing woman.
