Maria D. Demma

Maria D. Demma, age 88, of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence J. Duca, Sr., and Maria R. Miorana Duca, and preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Joseph A. Demma, brother, Lawrence J. Duca, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Barbara D. Thibodeaux (Carroll), son, Alan J. Demma (Cathy), grandchildren, Tracy Barreca Alexander, Gina Barreca Walker, Ryan Demma, Paul Demma, and Angela D. Mehle, great-grandchildren, Nathan Walker, Ava Walker, Avery Alexander, and Alyssa Alexander, numerous other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Maria loved her family immensely, she enjoyed cooking her special meatballs and spaghetti meals among other things for them. She also loved playing cards with her lifelong friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

The family would like to especially thank the staff at The Lodge at Tangi Pines for the excellent care they gave her during her stay with them.

Visitation for Maria will take place on Monday, March 4, 2024, beginning at 9:30 am - 11:00 am at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana, followed by a Prayer Service at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery 3421 Esplanade Ave., New Orleans, Louisiana.
