Maria T. Monk, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2011. She was a native of New Orleans, LA, a former resident of Metairie and Folsom and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 3 years. Beloved wife of the late Marvin T. Monk. Mother of Edward Monk (wife, Elizabeth) and the late Donald Gross. Grandmother of Jeremiah Growden. Daughter of the late Bernard C. Terrell and Beatrice Francis Terrell Chapman. Sister of Gertrude T. Blanke, Rose T. DeMuth and the late Joan Gardner. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 beginning at 9:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
