Marie Poche

Marie Alice Oertel Poché, age 94, entered into eternal life in Heaven on August 13, 2010. She was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Metairie for many years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Robert G. Poché, her parents , Carl Fredrick Oertel and Karolina Heindl Oertel, her brothers, Carl, Andrew, Joseph and Herman “Dutch” Oertel , her sister, Katherine Oertel Pillot and son-in-law Ray Hebert. She is survived by three children Robert Carl Poché (Cindy), Caroline Poché Hebert and William George Poché (Gail) , eight grandchildren; Ashley and Carl Poché; Michael and Brandon Hebert; Robert (Erin), Jeanne (Timothy) Fox, Brian and David Poché; and her first great grandson, William Lee Poché , whom she lovingly called ‘Willy Billy.’

Marie was a hairdresser who owned Marie’s Beauty Salon in Metairie in the 1950’s. She retired to become a full time mom which was her greatest achievement in life. She lived the last sixteen months at Sunrise Assisted Living where she will be missed by her many friends and the caring and compassionate staff. She was a parishioner at St. Angela Merci Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr., Metairie where a Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday August 17, 2010 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend. Visitation at the church will begin at 10:30 am. Interment in Lake Lawn Cemetery. On line condolences at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
