On behalf of Women Veterans of Louisiana we extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family of Ms. Marietta Davis Crane, U.S. Marine Corps veteran.  Here is a poem we honor our ladies of military with at their service:

She is a woman veteran
Whose service was true
She proudly served
The Red, White and Blue

She gave a part of her life
So others could be free
And without any hesitation
She joined unselfishly

She did her job well
With Honor and Pride
And served her great country
With the men alongside

We're proud today to know
That although she is gone
She goes on to glory
After a job "well done"!

And so, "Our Dear Sister"
We salute you today

Many many years ago when I was a little girl Ms Marietta was riding with my family and I down Causway in the circle over Airline . The company on the right side of Airline had stacks of colorful barrels . When I saw all the colors I said look at all the gorgeous barrels. From then on she called me gorgeous barrels.
Ms. Marietta was a beautiful lady. RIP
