Martin is the son of the late Martin Morel, Jr. and Anna Mae Kohler Morel. He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Betty Letell Morel, sons: Martin Morel, IV and Michael Morel, step sons: Richard Letell and Robert Letell, grandfather of four, brother of Carlie Rae Morel Raley and Cathy Morel Navo and the late Arnold Morel. He is also survived by two nieces and 3 nephews.
Martin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Visitation will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, near Clearview Pkwy in Metairie, LA beginning at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
