He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Gloria Mayeux Firmin.
Preceded in death by his parents, Louis E. Firmin and Lillian Roy Firmin, sister, Theresa F. Theriot, three half-brothers, three half-sisters, nieces and nephews.
Survived by a sister, Jeanette F. Dufrene and a brother, Jimmy Firmin, his nephews, Louis N. Theriot, Barry J. Dufrene, Timothy P. Theriot, Terry Dufrene, Myron, Glenn and Gary Firmin, his nieces, Fabian Brouillette and Phyllis Dufrene, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Firmin was a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer in Louisiana and New Mexico, employed by NOPSI, Entergy and The Aerospace Corp. and retired after working with the Aerospace Corp on the Strategic Pertroleum Reserve and the Space Technology Directorate in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He was very active in church and civic organizations with the Knights of Columbus and Guste Assembly Fourth Degree K. of C., a charter member and Officer of Ludovicum K.of C. Council # 4463. Member of K.of C. “feed the people” group, St. Clement of Rome Young Elders, Southlake Metairie Chapter of AARP, past president of the Alumni Association for the University of Southwest Louisiana, honorary member of the Louisiana Jaycees, a member of the International Jaycees for the state of Louisiana, an honorary lifetime member of the Louisiana Engineering Society, New Orleans Section and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
A United States Naval Veteran of WWII serving with the SeaBees and the Korean Conflict.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie, La. On Wednesday March 27, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held on Thursday March 28, 2013 at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home 445 W. Bontemps St. Marksville, La. From 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. with services to be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1271 S. Washington St. Marksville and burial to be in St. Joseph Mausoleum #2.
In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
