Matthew James McSween

Matthew James McSween was lovingly taken into the arms of the Lord on Monday, January 5, 2015. He was 11 years old. Beloved son of Michael and Nancy McSween. Grandson of Mildred and Winfred McSween. Nephew of Michael and Susan Smolnik Riley, Patrick McSween, and Joseph and Kim McSween. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to all of the physicians and staff members at Children’s Hospital, including Dr. Camelo Tardo, Dr. Shannon McGuire, and Dr. Patrice Evers, his teachers and aides from ReNew Cultural Arts Academy, and his loving and special caregivers, Miriam Amari, Billy Asprodites, Archie Campbell, Kelly Williams, and Chelena DeSalvo. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from St. Basil Antiochian Orthodox Church, 3916 Hudson Street, Metairie, on Tuesday morning, January 13, 2015 at 11:00. Visitation will begin in church at 9:00. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park, New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army are preferred.
