Melissa Taylor Bond died on Tuesday, December 16 after a lengthy illness. Melissa was the beloved wife of Marc Elliott Bond, loving mother of Graycen Taylor Bond and daughter of the late Larry Gray Taylor and Ilene Lazarus Taylor. Melissa had always been the girl in the crowd that never met a stranger. She was a friend to all. Her sense of humor and way of looking at the world was always a breath of fresh air from everyday routine perceptions. She enjoyed life at its most simplistic level without added and unnecessary complications. Melissa had the capacity to love in so many ways. And she was very much loved in return. She was generous without regard to the value of what she was giving, she received back with graciousness and appreciation. Her lifelong friends, her newfound friends and family were forever loyal and supportive, always by her side. Soon after Melissa lost her father, she met the love of her life, Marc, and the two of them would bring a precious baby girl, Graycen, into the world. Graycen was born with a severe heart defect and has survived happily with a successful heart transplant. A few years later, Melissa lost her mother, who was also a critical part of their caregiver team. Despite the heartbreaking grief, and knowing the huge responsibility of caring for her sick child, Melissa, along with Marc, stood strong in faith and character and lovingly cared and nurtured their baby girl into a smart, sassy little girl of 4. Melissa and her warm nature will be missed by everyone who was loved and touched by her. In lieu of flowers, donations by check can be made to the Melissa Taylor Bond Special Needs Trust c/o Marc Bond or The American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org/honor).
