Melvin Louis Caillouet

Melvin Louis Caillouet went to his heavenly home on September 26, 2021 at the age of 88. Grandson of the late George J. Caillouet and Alice Guidry Caillouet. Melvin was always grateful to his grandparents for raising him in a loving and caring home. Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jacqueline (Jackie) Spreen Caillouet. He leaves behind his beloved children Sherri Lynn Caillouet (Judd) and Chip Louis Caillouet (Kay) and his adoring grandchildren Jessica Alaine and Michael Christopher Talazac (Rebecca) and Melanie Kay and Andrew Louis Caillouet. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Caillouet Crowell. He is predeceased by his brother Dudley Francis, and sister Claire Marie Caillouet Castaing.

Melvin loved his family with all his heart. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and worked for 30 years at the New Orleans Fairgrounds. Melvin will be sadly missed by family and friends.

A Celebration of his life will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am with a Prayer Service beginning at 11:00 am.
