Milda "Mel" Carter Hingle

Milda “Mel” Carter Hingle, age 76, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010. Ms. Hingle was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA for 47 years. Beloved mother of Howard Joseph Lavin (wife, Gwen). Great friend and companion of Fred Palmisano for over 50 years. Grandmother of Athena L. Reith, Kristen L. Moore and Howard J. Lavin, Jr. Great grandmother of Megan and Kylie Moore, Kane, Landon and Vincent Reith. Sister of Hilda C. Spencer (her twin sister) and Leona King. Daughter of the late Clyde and Louisa Carter. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Ms. Hingle was retired from Metairie Bank. The relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Metairie Bank and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, April 6, 2010 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until 1:30 PM.
