Mildred Clare Rivet

Mildred C. Capdeville Rappold Rivet, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Born in Gretna, LA, a long time resident of Metairie, LA and a most recent resident of Kenner, LA. Beloved wife of the late Martin W. Rivet, Jr. by second marriage and the late Dr. Irwin M. Rappold, DDS, by first marriage. Preceeded in death by her son, Stephen Scott Rappold, her parents Ignatius G. and Mildred F. Capedeville, and her brother Lloyd Capdeville. Survived by her devoted and loving daughter, Kathy Rappold Blaum, son in law Harold “Rocky” Blaum, Jr. Loving grandmother of three grandchildren, Kristin B. Gonzalez, (Erik), Jason H., (Amanda) and Michael S. Blaum and one great grandchild, Ava Marie Gonzalez. Sister of Mary Ann Lemoine, (Vincent Aaron), and Carolyn “Penny” Capdeville. Also survived by many nephews and a niece. Step-mother of Michael Rivet, (Belinda), Tomlyn Kuhn, (Jason), and numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. Millie lived her Catholic life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always gave of herself for her husband and her family, a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Minister of St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church and her devotion to The Blessed Mother was her inspiration and wisdom she lived by, a member of several organizations throughout her joyous life and received numerous awards and honors for her years of generosity and service, and will truly be missed by everyone but especially her best friend and daughter, Kathy. Mom we love you and you will always be remembered for just being you. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Monday, December 27, 2010 with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM and a Mass at 12:30 PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie. Graveside service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd., N.O., LA to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to the St. Jude Community Center, 400 N.
