He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Theresa Leger, and their children: daughter Lisa Leger Lundberg, wife of Christopher Lundberg; son Mitchel Louis Leger III, husband of Andrea Aab Leger; and daughter Cindy Leger Castille, wife of Joey Lee Castille.
He is also survived by his eight grandchildren: Jennifer Olivier, Mitchel Leger IV, Ryan Rhoto, Stephanie Pina, Christian Leger, Hannah Johnson, Sarah Dehler, and Luke Leger; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Amelia, Jude, Benjamin, and Ellis Olivier; Maliha Muller; Evangeline, Roman, and Isaac Rhoto; Becket and Blaise Dehler; Mitchel Leger V; and Oliver Pina.
Mitchel graduated from Warren Easton High School and later from Loyola University. He built a respected career as a residential contractor, known for his dedication, work ethic, and care for the families he served through his craft.
A man of deep Catholic faith, Mitchel lived his life with a sincere love for the Lord. His faith was not merely something he practiced, but something he shared generously with others. He ministered in prisons, bringing the Word of God to those in need of hope, mercy, and encouragement. For many years, he faithfully walked in the Neocatechumenal Way, allowing his relationship with Christ to guide his life, his family, and his service to others. Through his witness, humility, and profound love of the Lord, Mitchel helped many come to know Jesus.
The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Wendy Giardina for her many years of devoted service, compassion, and care for Mitchel. Her kindness, patience, and faithful presence were a true blessing to Mitchel and to the entire family throughout his journey.
Above all, Mitchel’s greatest joy was his family. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren remained the center of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, perseverance, and love that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
