Muriel Smith Cook, 86, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2010, joining her beloved husband of 65 years, Robert W. Cook, in eternal rest. Daughter of the late Gordon M. and Frances Smith. Survived by many nieces and nephews. A native of New Orleans and a resident of River Ridge for 50 years. She graduated from Newcomb College studying interior design. In 1972, her interests turned toward painting. She studied nationally with well-known water-colorists, also at N.O. Academy of Fine Arts and UNO. She was a member of Southern Watercolor Society and LA Watercolor Society. She taught art lessons from her home studio for many years. Her paintings are included in local galleries and collections across the country. Per her wishes, there will be no services.
