

Nancy Lombardo Brehm, of New Orleans, LA and Jacksonville, FL died July 8, 2021 in New Orleans at the age of 75. Nancy was born December 27, 1945 in New Orleans, to Peter P. Lombardo and Mae Madere Lombardo. She was married to the love of her life, the late Robert “Randy” Brehm Sr., for 49 years. She will be remembered by her two children, Holly Robertson Brehm and Robert “Robby” Brehm Jr., both of New Orleans, her twin granddaughters, Lily Brehm and Madison Brehm of Jacksonville, brothers, Peter R. Lombardo (Jonell) of New Orleans and Stanley Lombardo (Judith Roitman) of Lawrence, KS, and her sister and best friend, Shirley Lombardo Treichel of Denver, CO.
Nancy attended St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School and St. Stephens High School in Uptown New Orleans. She graduated from Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 1970 with a bachelor of arts in education and began her teaching career. Nancy, her husband Randy, and her children moved to Jacksonville in 1985 to open the Creole Queen restaurant in Riverside. They brought wonderful New Orleans style food and culture and shared her fierce love of all things Mardi Gras. Nancy was a beloved first grade teacher for many years at Greenland Pines Elementary School in Jacksonville, where she touched the lives of many children for generations. Nancy was awarded teacher of the year for the impact and dedication she had on all her students. She had a gift for making students believe in themselves and brought them to their highest potential. Her memory lives on in the many children whose lives she affected. Nancy was a Eucharistic minister for several years at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jacksonville. She was also an avid gardener. Her beautiful yard was a sanctuary for birds and wildlife and little bouquets were frequently about their home. She loved animals, especially dogs, and both her basset hounds lived a luxurious life. She was a devoted mother to Robby and Holly and created magical moments throughout their childhood, which will have lasting memories. Her twin granddaughter, Lily and Madison were the lights of her life. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 7, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 631 State St. New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be from 11AM-12PM with a memorial Mass to begin at 12PM.
