

Nancy was born on September 19, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Helen Lyon Edwards and Earl Lyon Jr. She was a devoted wife to Michael Steven Duhon Sr, a loving mother to Jacquelyn Renee Scobey, Jonathan Robert Scobey, Jeremy Edward Scobey, and Michael Steven Duhon Jr. (Rebecca), a loving grandmother to Madison Renee Scobey, Marlee Rayne Scobey, Hanna Duhon, and Gabriel Duhon (Quynh), and adoring great grandmother to Ava Kain.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Lyon Edwards, father, Earl Lyon, Jr., sister, Robin Alice Edwards, granddaughter Amanda Duhon, and brother-in-law, Leonard Jamison Lyon (Linda). Nancy is survived by her older sister Linda Joy Lyon, niece Lindsay Joy Lyon Alt and husband Fred Alt, and three children, Jack, Anna, and Nora, as well as nephew Richard Jason Lyon.
Nancy was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Warren, Michigan, attending Fitzgerald High School through her Junior year. She moved to Gaylord, Michigan, for her senior year and graduated from Gaylord High School class of 1967. After high school, she married Douglas Jon Scobey (deceased), moved to Kalkaska, Michigan, and had three children, Jono, Jacque, and Jeremy, who she loved with all of her heart. In 1976, Nancy, Doug, and the three kids moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, to start the next chapter of their lives.
In Lafayette, Nancy worked for the University of Southwest Louisiana USL - the Ragin' Cajuns. After her time at USL, she began her career in the oil and gas industry as a mineral lease analyst for Edwin L. Cox. In 1987, she relocated to Metairie, Louisiana, to work for C.T. Carden Oil and Gas and Llog Exploration. Nancy eventually concluded her career at Black Stone Minerals and Hilcorp in Houston, Texas as an independent oil and gas consultant. She was a highly respected professional in her field, dedicating nearly 50 years to the oil and gas industry.
Nancy was a devoted and loving wife to Michael Steven Duhon Sr. They met on a blind date in 1990 and have been together ever since. Nancy loved her family and enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays with them. Nancy will be greatly missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kind heart and love for her family and friends will always be remembered by those lucky enough to know her.
A graveside service will take place at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:30 pm.
