Neil Thomas Sterling, Sr.

Neil was born on August 2, 1961 to the late Jessie and Carol Sterling. Neil was the third eldest of 5 children, Nadja S. Ellis, the late Roy J. Sterling, Karren A. Sterling, the late Leah A. Sterling. Neil's legacy will be carried on through his children; Damien Sterling (mother Donna McWilliams), Neil Sterling II, and Jessie Sterling (mother Felicia Patterson), and Ian Sterling (mother the late Sarina Richardson). Neil will live on through his grandchildren, Kiaya Sterling and Kobe Sterling.

Neil was a graduate of St. Augustine High School in 1979 and entered the Navy shortly thereafter. Upon completing his military duties, he returned home to join the United States Postal Services as a letter carrier, where he resigned due to illness.

Neil leaves behind to mourn 3 aunts, 1 uncle, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn his “Ride or Die” Raymond “uncle Mickey” Heim, a host of relatives and friends who live on here today to celebrate his life here on earth.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am with the Memorial Service beginning at 11:00 am.
