Noelie Douglas

Noelie Courouleau Douglas joined her late husband, Harvey Bodie Douglas on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 6:00 am. Mother of Pamela Thompson, Patricia Harris and Peggy Douglas Nugent. Daughter of the late Alexander and Celine Lapuyade Courouleau. Sister of the late Hedwige (Edvige ) Luke, Armand Courouleau, Ignacia (Inez) Guedry, Alexander Courouleau, Germaine Liuzza and John Courouleau. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Age 90 years. A native of New Orleans, LA and a lifetime resident of Metairie, LA and Kenner, LA. Noelie was a soloist and Bible teacher for 60 years. She sang in various churches and revivals. She was a devout witness for the Lord in her Christian walk. She was a member of the former Mid-City Baptist Church and a current member of First Baptist Church of Kenner. She was a dietitian for the Mid-City Baptist School and then worked for the Jefferson Parish Library Headquarters until her retirement at age 71.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at First Baptist Church of Kenner, 1400 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA on Friday afternoon, December 17, 2010 beginning at 2:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM. Interment was private.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214 or to the Ron Herrod Evangelism Ministries Association, P.O. Box 6447 Sevierville, TN 37864.
