Norman Charles Haydel

Norman C. Haydel, age 85, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side Sunday, November 26, 2017. He was born March 21, 1932 in New Orleans. Norman graduated from Balboa High, Panama and received his degree from LSU School of Engineering. He is survived by his five children Edward J. Haydel (Aimee), Glen J. Haydel (Lurene), Susan H. Osigian (Barkef), Katharine H. Ehrhardt (Jeff), and Deborah H. LeGrange (Chris). And his grandchildren Edward, Danny, Marina, Kory, Sarah, Mallory, Benjamin, Caleb, Katie (Evan), Lane, Molly, Amelie, Beth, Owen, Carlyn, Kyler, and Ella and his 3 great-grandchildren Adele, Asa and Pryor. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Katharine Carter Haydel; his parents Edward George and Vivian Fourroux Haydel; and brother Frances J. Haydel. Norman loved watching LSU and Saints games. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends and sharing his unique sense of humor. Norman will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana 70006 on Wednesday afternoon, November 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
