

Norman Edward Parke Sr. joined his beloved wife, Bernice Autin Parke in heaven on December 7, 2022 at the age of 84. He was born May 17, 1938 to Charles Edward Parke and Elma Bell Nish Parke in San Francisco, CA and was a longtime resident of Metairie, LA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elma Parke, his wife of 31 years, Bernice Parke, and their son, Ricky Ruffin Parke (survived by Deanna).
He is survived by his children, Norman Edward “Eddie” Parke Jr. (Sherile), Gwen Murphy (the late Doug), and Carl Howard (Donna), and daughter-in-law, Deanna Parke (the late Ricky). He is also survived by his sister, Helen Anne Parke Serio (Terry) of California, 8 grandchildren, Alyssa, Jessica, Candace, Justin, Billy, Benji, Brian, and Clint, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Norman joined the United Stated Air Force and served for 4 years, where he was stationed in California, South Africa and Germany. He and his wife were parishioners of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church. Norman also loved being a member of the car club “Rusty Nuts” and earned many awards with his antique El Camino called “Midnight.”
The family would like to thank all of Norman’s friends and neighbors that took such great care of him, as well as the owners and staff of St Francis Villa Assisted Living Center.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 9AM-11AM with a service to begin at 11AM. Inurnment and military honors will follow at Lake Lawn Mausoleum.
