

Oneida Landry Dutel, 88, born 12-08-1924, a native of New Orleans died 11-12-2013 at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was a resident of New Orleans most of her life but lived with her daughter, Jayne, in Metairie at the time of her death. For approximately 50 years she worked for Judge Adrian Duplantier as his "long-time secretary" at Civil District Court in New Orleans, later retiring after 30 years from the U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana as his Administrative Assistant. After retirement she enjoyed playing bingo and making new friends at the Metairie Senior Center. Oneida was known by her family and friends as a strong, hard-working, feisty, and very generous lady with a sense of humor. She is survived by her daughters Jayne Dutel Natal and Terry Dutel Mantle, her grandchildren Nicole Alt Palmer (Fred), Shane Sigsworth, Christy Alt Mayer (Maury), Ryan Bienvenu, and her great grandsons, Austin and Andre Sigsworth, and Aaron and Alexander Mayer. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews who will greatly miss her. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Frank Landry, Jr. and Lillian Landry, and her siblings Frank Landry, III and Lillian Kendrick. Visitation begins at 11:00am on Friday, November 29 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd, Metairie with a chapel service at 1:00pm.
