She was born May 20, 1948 in New Orleans LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ora Lee Roundtree. She never remarried after the death of her beloved husband, Sonny Burmaster. She is survived by her son, Derrick Burmaster; her two grandsons, Connor and Cameron; her three sisters, Wanda, Nora, and Noha; and her brother, John.
To her family, she was known as Patsy, while her adored grandchildren affectionately called her, Nana. She regularly attended the White Dove Fellowship church and typically listened to Christian music while relaxing at home. It was her faith along with the birth of her son that kept her strong as she struggled tough the years after the tragic and untimely death of her husband. And it was her son, Derrick, that once again helped her rediscover that vital sense of family. She especially loved the holidays, particularly Christmas with her grandchildren, enjoying their cheerful faces as they opened presents. It seemed there was a lasting child within her that refused to grow old and forget the simple miracles that only children see. Family and friends are comforted knowing that their loss is Heaven’s gain…
