Patricia Ann Ellzey

Patricia Carite Ellzey, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on August 16, 2017, at age 78. Pat was the beloved wife of Samuel E. Ellzey, Jr. for more than 57 years. She was the loving mother of Elizabeth McInerney (Keith), Catherine Ellzey, and Jacqueline Creely (Brian), and the devoted grandmother of Kelly Wallace (Eric), Patrick McInerney, Kathleen Creely, and Bridget Creely. She was the great-grandmother of Daniel and David Wallace. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Anna Carite, and her brother, Raymond A. Carite, who is survived by his wife Rosemary Carite. Pat is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Faith, family, and friends were foremost in Pat’s life. Cooking, gardening, and sewing were among her hobbies. She will be missed by many. Visitation will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue, Metairie, Louisiana 70003 on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with the celebration of Mass to follow at 12 noon. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery #1, 5000 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. The family would like to thank the staff of East Jefferson General Hospital and Hospice Associates for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
