Patricia Anne Waaser Kreger

April 17, 1931 – September 14, 2025
Obituary of Patricia Anne Waaser Kreger
IN THE CARE OF

Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home

Patricia Anne Waaser Kreger, age 94, died Sunday, September 14, 2025. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 17, 1931, and was a longtime resident of River Ridge, Louisiana.

“Miss Pat” as she was known to many, was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Joseph Kreger, and will be sadly missed by her son, Robert Stephen Kreger, her daughter, Tracy Lee Kreger, her former daughter-in-law, Catherine Burk Kreger, her grandson, Nicholas Joseph Kreger, her granddaughter-in-law, Margaret Claire Montgomery Kreger, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many others loving relatives, friends and neighbors.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, Robert Waaser of New York, her mother, Ethel Lichtblau of Szeged, Hungary, her uncle, Stephen Lichtblau, and her aunt, Ruth Ann Lichtblau. She moved to New Orleans in 1948, and graduated from Sophie Wright High School. On Valentine’s Day of 1953, she went on a blind date with Fred Kreger. It must’ve been love at first sight, because the two were married the following December. They moved to River Ridge in 1956, where they had two children and raised a family.

Originally a stay-at-home mom, Patricia eventually went to work as a Petroleum Engineer Technician with the U.S. Department of the Interior, flying in helicopters to oil rigs offshore. She was also active in several garden clubs and in the Greater New Orleans Bonsai Society. In later years, she and Fred travelled extensively, going to Africa, Australia, and many other places. They would often travel to Colorado to visit their daughter and to the Alabama Gulf Coast to visit their son and grandson.

In short, Patricia had a long life well spent. She was loved by many and will be missed.
