

Patricia Holloway Taquino passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the age of 73. She was born in Staten Island, New York on June 26, 1951, and was a resident of Metairie for the past 67 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles B. Taquino, Jr., her parents, Albert Erickson Holloway, Shirley Marquez Holloway Elardo, stepfather Simon Elardo, and brother-in-law Frank Taquino, Sisters in law Sandy & Cindy Taquino, father in law, Charles B. Taquino, Sr., mother in law Lorraine Smolke Taquino.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Marie Taquino, son, Charles B Taquino III (Sheila), grandchildren, Kaleb Michael Taquino, Joseph Ryan (Heather), Jessica Zaldivar (Marco), 3 great grandchildren, sisters, Pam Holloway Majoue (Billy) & Karen Holloway Smith (Mike), friend & sitter, Tonya Vernon (George) and a host of nieces, nephews.
She graduated from Riverdale High School, Class of 1969 and began her career with Deep South Blenders on February 3, 1983, and retired on December 30, 2020. She was an active member of the TOPS Club Inc. (Take Off Pounds Sensibility) national organization. She joined on June 1, 1978, and remained a member/honorary member until her passing. She reached her Goal Weight in 1988 and became a member of our KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) group for many years. During her tenure she held every office there was to be held, including Leader, Co-Leader, Secretary, Treasurer, and Weight
Recorder: the latter of which she held the longest and became an absolute expert on every facet of that position. Pat also performed many times at our State Recognition Day activities as an Honor Guard and in the Circle of Lights Dedication.
She loved shopping, hanging out with friends and family and decorating for holidays, she will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her positive attitude, commitment to her family and willingness to help others.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at her home 3811 Derbigny St. Metairie, LA.
