Pauli, my friend...

Paul Bercegeay was not a small boy.
His presence and happiness brought me great joy.
Pauli was a kind and dear friend indeed.
When I first met him, he planted a seed.

That seed grew, and then grew some more
By the end of that day I felt loved to my core.
That day was the start of a beautiful friendship;
I count my blessings, that with him I was in it.

My friend liked to eat, watch t.v., and to visit
When I was not there, I surely would miss it.
I loved to see him every chance I had.
When I missed his visits, I sincerely felt bad.

So brave and strong, right from his core.
His visit usually left me wanting some more.
His laugh was loud, confident, and true.
When I saw his smile, I never felt blue.

Star Trek, he always wanted to watch.
When Lee didn’t have it, his visit was botched.
Saints and LSU were some of his favorites
Watching the games with him, a joy he did make it.

You will be greatly missed every day of the year.
I find it difficult to fight back the tears.
So rest sweet friend with Jesus up above
I am forever thankful for all of your love.

I look very forward to seeing you again.
I could never replace such a refreshing dear friend.
Heaven is blessed by the presence of you
A kindhearted soul so precious and true.

I love you my dear friend. You may be gone, but NEVER forgotten.
