

Paul Rongey passed away in his home on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the age of 87. Paul was born in Searcy, Arkansas on January 1, 1925. Paul is survived by his wife of 62 years Colleen Haynes Rongey. He is also survived by 4 sons Michael, John, Robert and Scott; 8 grandchildren Daniel, Joshua, Jessica, Adam, Matthew, Jacob, Michael and Ben and 3 great grandchildren Cameron, Cooper and Olivia. Paul served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific in WWII. After the war he lived in Fort Smith, AR where he married Colleen Haynes and worked for Missouri Pacific Bus Line. He and Colleen moved to Jefferson Parish in 1957 where he worked for Louisiana Transit Company until 1975 as shop foreman at which time he formed Reliable Equipment, Inc. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in River Ridge, LA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie on Wednesday morning, January 11, 2012 beginning at 9:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
