Mr. Percy R. Pontiff

Percy R. Pontiff, age 83, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011. He was a native of Thibodaux, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA for 58 years. Beloved father of Bobby Pontiff (wife, Rhonda). Grandfather of Bryen Pontiff. Mr. Pontiff was a retired foreman on the riverfront for 43 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the VFW Metry Post, the Elks Lodge No. 30 and a member of Elmwood Fitness Center since it first opened. Mr. Pontiff worked at Zephyr Field up until the time of his death. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday evening, May 17, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Funeral Mass in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel at 7:00 PM. Graveside service and interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Thibodaux, LA on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Pontiff’s name may be sent to East Jefferson General Hospital, (donations will go towards the Oncology and Infusion Dept.), 4200 Houma Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006.
