Mr. Peter J. "Pete" Lopinto Sr.

Peter J. “Pete” Lopinto, Sr., age 68, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Mr. Lopinto was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA for 28 years. Beloved husband of Amanda “Mandy” Robichaux Lopinto for 28 years. Father of Peter Joseph Lopinto, Jr., David Anthony Lopinto (wife, Tara) and Corey Hebert (wife, Ashley). Grandfather of Katlyn Elizabeth, Kallie Maria and Avery Grace. Son of the late Jeanne Cutrera Taormina, J.P. LeBlanc and Eugene Roy Taormina. Grandson of the late Simo and Elena Cutrera and Peter and Anna Lopinto. Brother of Patricia LeBlanc and Charlotte LeBlanc Kirsch, Alice Fay Baroni and Betty Dautush. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Lopinto was a member of the Vineyard Church and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was very involved as a volunteer coach at Holy Cross High School, Milne Playground and St. Raphael School. He was a beautiful man all the way around and will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Security Industrial Insurance Company are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA on Friday evening, May 13, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a funeral service at 7:30 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s Chapel. Mr. Lopinto’s family would like to thank Dr. Monty Glorioso, Dr. Steven Morris, Dr. Arshed Malik and the staff of Davita Dialysis and East Jefferson CCU for the wonderful care given to Mr. Lopinto.
