Philip J. Dufour, Jr. “Brud”, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on March 28, 2016, he was 54. He retired from Goodyear as a front-end alignment specialist. After retiring, he had more time to focus on what he loved. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. They traveled to many places and truly loved their time spent together. He built a motor for his race car and enjoyed his need for speed. Brud also had a passion for being on the water and spending his weekends at the beach. He loved his wave runner and took every opportunity he had to bring his family and friends out on the water. He was a vibrant man who loved life. He was the type of person to always lend a helping hand, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His grandchildren were his world. He would spend hours playing outside, taking them to the park, going to Chuck E. Cheese and the Dollar Tree. His eyes would light up every time he saw them. He would often say that when he wasn’t feeling well, it was time to see his grandbabies because they would make him feel better. He will be deeply missed by his grandbabies. Brud leaves behind his loving wife Jacqueline “Jackie” Connelly Dufour, who he was married to for 32 years. He also leaves behind his son, whom he adored, Danny Ellis Jr., who is married to Christie Aymami Ellis. He cherished his three grandchildren; Gabrielle, Abigail, and Joshua Ellis. Brud will be greatly missed by his siblings; Ludy Kahrs married to Mike Khars, William Dufour “Willie”, and Arthur Dufour married to Sandra “Sandy”. He is survived by his aunt, Betty Roth Lassiter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip J. Dufour Sr. and Cecilia “Seal” Roth Dufour. He will be deeply missed by his childhood best friends, Nicky Pavone, Curt Zeller and also his Chestnut Street family. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to the “Connelly Crew” for all the guidance, love, and support during this extremely difficult time. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service from Leitz-Eagan Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Saturday evening, April 02, 2016 at 7:00pm.
