Preston Joseph Stevens

Preston J. (Steve, P.J.) Stevens passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Jean Lacassin Stevens of 39 years. He was born in New Orleans and was a long-time resident of Metairie. He was born to the late Oliver Stevens and Enola Hebert. Brother of the late George Stevens. Devoted father of Donna Hodges, Patrick (P.J.), Ronald, and Michael Stevens. Stepfather of the late Anthony Zanca, Sr., Debra Wall, Rickey Zanca, Frank Carroll, Donna Stewart, and Brenda Carroll. He is also survived by six grandchildren, one great grandchild, nine step-grandchildren, and eight step- great grandchildren.

Mr. Stevens served our country as a member of the United States Navy. He was also an officer for the New Orleans Police Department, where he retired after many years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a member of PMBA. He also retired from Ochsner Medical Center in the Security Department.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 11:00am. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until service time. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie, Louisiana.
