Rachel Elizabeth Lay, age 38, entered into rest on Monday, January 25, 2016. Loving mother of Estella and Evie Koch. Daughter of the late Herbie and Robin Lay. Sister of Cindy Lay, Amy Capps (James), Chris Lay (Melissa) and the late Herbie Lay, Jr. Aunt and Godmother of Tyler Capps. Aunt of Abby and Katy Capps. Granddaughter of the late Harriet and Frederick Kinsler. Niece of Christopher Kinsler and Janet Wheeler. Rachel is also survived by the father of her children, Mark Koch. Rachel was a native and lifelong resident of Metairie, LA and was a graduate of East Jefferson High School. Rachel’s favorite time of year was Mardi Gras so please feel free to wear a pair of Mardi Gras beads to Rachel’s service to honor her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Saturday afternoon, January 30, 2016 beginning at 12:00 noon with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Rachel’s family so they can arrange an education fund for her daughters, Estella and Evie.
