

Ralph Ernest Dusse’, founder, owner and President of “The House of Time, Inc.” which he founded in November, 1947, entered peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at St. Theresa’s. He was 91 years old. Mr. Dusse’ was a watchmaker, jeweler, U.S. Air Force Aircraft Instrument Mechanic and instructor during World War II. He was married for 63 years to his beloved wife, Juanita Bagley Dusse’. He was the son of George L. Dusse’ and Annabelle Anderson Dusse’, who are deceased. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Thompson and Gloria Ruppert.
In Ralph’s youth, he was a gymnast, representing the New Orleans Athletic Club. He won the Southern AAU All Around in 1947. Ralph was a member of the N.O.A.C. for over 70 years, which he enjoyed very much, and at one time served on the Membership Committee. His grandfather, Ernest Dusse’, was one of the founders of the N.O.C.A., which was called the Young Men’s Rifle Club.
Mr. Dusse’ had his business for 62 years, closing in December, 2009. “The House of Time, Inc.” provided sales and service for microscopes and all scientific instruments to hospitals, schools, universities and anyone in need of his services. The business was also the industrial agent of Polaroid for the State of Louisiana. He enjoyed doing this type of work and helped many people. He working until he was 87 years old. He had a wonderful life doing it his way and was a happy man with his beloved wife.
Ralph is survived by his wife Juanita, sister, Jeanne Dusse’ Morgan, sister-in-law Faye Bagley Cook, Godson Carey Morgan and many nieces and nephews that he loved.
We would like to thank Patricia Stewart, RN, a wonderful nurse who cared for Ralph during his final years. Also, a supportive caregiver, Sarah Gilmore, who provided care to Ralph and assisted his family so much.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 1:00 PM at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
