

Raquel Osorto, beloved mother, daughter, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, at the age of 37, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on June 8, 1987, Raquel was a radiant beacon of love and light. She uplifted everyone around her with her strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit. Her laughter filled every room, and her warmth touched the lives of all who knew her.
Not only was Raquel a warrior in her fight against cancer, but she was also a champion for life, embracing each moment with deep gratitude. A talented chef, her creativity in the kitchen brought the entire family together, crafting delicious meals that transformed gatherings into cherished memories. The flavors she created and the moments she shared will forever be etched in our hearts.
Raquel is survived by her beloved children, Eliana and Elias; her supportive partner, Darrel Wells; her loving parents, Thelma E. Osorto and Benjamin Alvarez; her grandmother, Thelma C. Osorto; her cherished sisters, Elsa Osorto, Araseliy Alvarez (Yesenia), Victoria Alvarez, and Emilia Alvarez; her aunts and uncles, Carlos Osorto (Laura), Belinda Alvarez (Rosalio), Mirta Cardenas (Fabian), and Leda Pagan (David); her loving cousins, Erica Alvarez, John Alvarez, Gabrielle Shreve, Fabian Cardenas Jr., Carlos Osorto Jr., Ashley Pagan, Daniel Pagan, Joshua Pagan, Jonathan Pagan, and Alicia Padilla; as well as her nieces and nephews, Madeline, Michael, Matthew, Julianna, Gianna, and Isaac. She was preceded in passing by her best friend and cousin Christian Pagan. Special thanks to the Baca family for their unwavering support. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006, followed by a funeral service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
