

He attended and graduated from Michigan State University in 1967 where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Business Administration. He was awarded membership in the engineering honorary of Pi Tau Sigma.
Following a lengthy corporate career that involved worldwide travel and living in many locations across the country, he moved to Kenner, Louisiana, in 1990, where he established Ergonomic Accessories, a company that focused on safety and injury prevention in the office. He was active in the community and served as president of the Delta Safety Society for several years.
Surviving him are his wife of 59 years, Virginia Marcelino Hogan; two daughters, Heather Hogan and Melanie Hogan; three grandchildren, Joseph Lips, Damien Karlin, and Michael Karlin; two great-grandchildren, Avery Lips and Liyam Karlin; and his sister, Cynthia Hogan of Eaton Rapids, MI. Family was always important and a source of pride to Ray. His decisions were based on pursuing excellence, keeping high standards, and doing what was right for his family.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Memorial Gathering on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
