Raymond Paul Simoneaux Sr.

Raymond P. Simoneaux, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 27, 2022 in The Woodlands, TX. He was 95. He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Jeannette Rouyer Simoneaux, with whom he was blessed with six children: Donna Lee Simoneaux Yates (Thurston), Susan Simoneaux Boye (Gary), Sheila Simoneaux Laviolette (Chester, Skip), Raymond P. Simoneaux, Jr. (Karen), Cynthia Simoneaux Ankesheiln (Arthur) and Warren J Simoneaux (Shona). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, four sisters, Shirley Simoneaux LeBlanc, Dorothy Simoneaux Doussan, Frances Simoneaux Bradley Boos and Lois “Debbie” Simoneaux Laviolette in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice Krieger Simoneaux and Ozemie “Jack” Simoneaux (Ivy Ducote).

Mr. Simoneaux retired from AT&T after 32 years of service, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He trained in bodybuilding and weight lifting and received the title of Mr. Louisiana in 1959. He also enjoyed singing in the church choir.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 11:00 am at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will be in the Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery in Slidell.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children Hospital, https://www.stjude.org are preferred and appreciated.
