Mrs. Rebecca Lukow Bain

Rickey Lukow Bain, age 104, passed away at Willow Wood Retirement Home on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Beloved wife for 72 years of the late Leonard Bain. Devoted mother of Elliott M. Bain (Joan) of New Orleans, LA and Harriet B. Liroff (Richard) of South Orange, NJ. Grandmother of Steven Bain (Aimee), Brian Bain (Julie), Bradley Bain (Daniela), Susan Klinger (Joel), Bruce Liroff (Patti), and Robert Liroff (Liz), and great-grandmother of eight. Born in Brighton Beach, NY, she and Leonard lovingly raised their family in New Orleans, enjoying all the city had to offer and sharing their lives with countless friends here for 39 years. She actively was a member of Hadassah, the Square Circle Social Society, and temple sisterhood, before retiring to Aventura, Florida. In her passing, we all celebrate her sense of humor, her joie de vive and an amazing 104 years of life and love. For the past eight years, she has been devotedly and lovingly cared for by Martha Leon and Cheryl Robinson.

Graveside Services will be held at Hebrew Rest III Mausoleum, 2100 Pelopidas at Frenchman Street on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. Rabbi Alexis Berk of Touro Synagogue will officiate.
