Ricardo Enrique Mirón, age 81 of Metairie, LA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Rick was born on August 25, 1944, in Guatemala City, Guatemala to Ricardo Mirón and Elisa Gonzalez Mirón. In the early 1950’s, Rick’s family migrated to the United States where he grew up in the Carrollton area of New Orleans. He graduated from Incarnate Word Elementary School and De La Salle High School in 1963. After high school, Rick attended and graduated from LSUNO in 1968 with a degree in Business. After college, Rick was drafted and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict where he was stationed in Germany. In 1971, Rick married the love of his life, Susan M. Mirón and together they had two sons. He worked for Greater New Orleans Federal Credit Union, serving as President for over 20 years. He was a proud member of the Kiwanis Club of New Orleans where he served as a Treasurer for many years, the De La Salle Alumni Association, and a board member of the National Credit Union Association. Along with his wife, Rick was a longtime parishioner of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and his grandmother, Dolores Gonzalez.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Susan; his sons, Jeffrey Mirón (Angela) and Jonathan Mirón (Erin); his granddaughters, Isabella, Scarlet, and Katherine; and his brothers, Luis Mirón (Rose Ann) and Christian Mirón (Graziella). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, LA on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
