Richard Paul Hebert

He was born May 8th, 1966, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Hugh and Marion Hebert. He met the love of his life Brigitte Hebert at 28 years old at Tipitina's in New Orleans. They married five years later and spent the rest of his life together.

Richard moved from Trenton to Sulphur, Louisiana at 12 years old for his father’s work. He studied philosophy at Louisiana State University as an undergraduate. He then got his Masters of Architecture at University of Texas at Arlington in 1993. Post graduation he moved to New Orleans. At 36 he connected with his birth mother Jane Latour and her husband Russell Smith; they remained close for the rest of her life. Richard worked as an Architect in the New Orleans Area for 30 years. He then worked for the Government of Louisiana as a Facility Planning & Control Project Manager. Richard was also active in the NOLA chapter of the Alliance for Good Government. He loved sports, travelling, movies, music, art, and was an inspiration to his family and friends. Anyone who met him, even for a brief time, knew he was the kindest man, with a heart of gold.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Suzie Hebert, and his birth mother Jane Latour.

He is survived by his wife, Brigitte; and his children, Étiennette, Hugh, and Betty Hebert.
