Rickey Jules Sears

Rickey Jules Sears was born August 24, 1949 and went to be with Our Lord and God on August 7, 2022. He passed peacefully at home from heart failure. He was raised in Westwego and lived in Metairie for the past fifty years. Rickey was a very loving and devoted husband and grateful and affectionate father.

Rickey graduated from West Jefferson High School and Delgado Community College where he earned an associate’s degree in electrical construction and bio-med electronics. Rickey served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1970-1974 where worked as a crew chief on F-4 fighter jets and coordinated their flights from Thailand to Vietnam. He was retired from both Ochsner Hospital and Tulane Medical School.

Rickey loved nothing better than spending a date day with his wife and quality time with his two sons at a Saint’s football game. He loved spending time with and cooking for his family, friends, and neighbors. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden and was always looking to make time to go fishing. Rickey always had a big smile on his face and enjoyed life and work with enthusiasm. He is and always will be greatly missed and loved.

Interment will be held at a later date. To all his family and many friends who wish to remember good times with him, please visit his family at home whenever possible to share memories.
