Rita Wendling Hof

Rita Rose Wendling Hof, age 92, and a Metairie resident for 47 years, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012 at Canon Hospice. Wife of the late Joseph D. Hof. Loving mother of Alvina Legendre (Gary), Daniel F. Hof (Diane) Carolyn A. Navarrete (Juan) and the late Joseph Daniel Hof, Jr. Rita was the daughter of the late Frank D. Wendling and Alvina Petrie Wendling. Half sister of the late Marie Darcy. Grandmother of Lisa Smith, Jeffrey Hof, Anthony Imbraguglio, Brian Hof, and Melissa Adamcewicz. Also survived by 9 great grandchildren and her friend K. Joseph Rodriguez.

Rita was a lady of simplicity. What describes her best are her mottos and beliefs throughout all phases of her life. She strongly instilled in her three children and grandchildren that “if you have God and good health you are the richest person in the world; less is better than more; material things weigh you down and the simple life is the best life”. Mrs. Hof was a charter member and a volunteer at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church and many other organizations.

A Funeral Mass will be held from St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 4317 Richland Ave. at West Esplanade Ave., Metairie on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 12:00 Noon.
