Robert Louis Heath Sr.

September 1, 1946 – September 17, 2025
Obituary of Robert Louis Heath Sr.
IN THE CARE OF

Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home

Metairie, LA - Robert Louis Heath, Sr. of Metairie, Louisiana, fell asleep with the Lord on September 17, 2025, at 79 years old.

Robert loved God, his family, and this country. At 18 years old, upon graduating high school in Vinton, Louisiana, he enlisted in the US Navy. He was stationed outside of Athens, Greece, where he met his "lucky Penney" (Panagiota Kafandari), who would soon become his wife of 57 years. They have two children, his son Robert Jr. and daughter Angela.

Robert received his bachelor's in electrical engineering from McNeese (Lake Charles, LA) and his master's in engineering from Tulane (New Orleans, LA). He had a distinguished career as an engineer at Entergy (formerly Louisiana Power & Light) for almost 40 years.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert was most proud of his family, especially his three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Prescott Heath, mother Marie Catherine nee Aja, and beloved brother Richard Joseph Heath. He is survived by his wife, Panagiota (Penney) Heath, daughter Angela Heath, son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lori Heath, and grandsons Joshua, Michael, and Nicholas Heath as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private ceremony, and the interment of Robert's remains will be in Annavossos, Greece, the place he loved the most. The family requests that anyone who wishes to honor Robert's memory do so with a donation to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, https://dogood.t2t.org, a charity to which he was devoted.

The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
