Robert Lee Tubre

Robert Lee Tubre, age 81, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011. Devoted husband of 59 years to the late Gloria Devillier Tubre. Beloved father of Robert Lee Tubre, II (Susan), Sheila Tubre Provenza (Vincent), Charles Craig Tubre (Vicky), Daniel Tubre and Terry Neil Tubre. “PawPaw” to 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Brother of James Arthur Tubre, Jr. and Sylvia Tubre Young. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Arthur Tubre and Gilberthe Dossman Tubre, and his sisters, Opal Tubre Hickman and Winnie Tubre Amy.

A native of Ville Platte, Louisiana and a resident of Metairie, LA for the past 59 years. He was a parishioner of St. Edwards the Confessor for the past 43 years. He adored spending time with his wife, Gloria, and his family finds comfort knowing that he is reunited with her. His hobbies included his daily fitness routine, watching LSU (Geaux Tigers) and Saints (Who Dat) football games with his family, and taking care of his vegetable garden. He retired as a manufacturing plant supervisor after 30 years. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Suma Satti and her staff and especially Hospice Compassus for their care.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Garden of Memories Funeral Home 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until funeral time. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
