Robin Ann Eddy passed away peacefully after a long illness on Friday, 25th February 2011 at the age of 51 years. Robin is very much loved by her beloved daughter Martha, Martha's husbnd Marc, her sister Lauren, brother-in-law Richard, her partner Robert and her father Dick and his wife Beatriz, and her devoted dog Molly. Her cherished nieces Katie and Lesley and her adored nephew Sam, her beloved grandchildren Jack and Rosa Bella will all miss her wonderful presence, her kindness, her razor sharp wit and tireless sense of humor.
Robin spent much of her childhood in England where she graduated from The American High School in London. Soon after her graduation she came to join her sister in New Orleans and made the city her home. She worked for many years in the French Quarter where she made many friends and she loved the vibrancy and diversity of life here. Robin, like all her fellow New Orleanians, was a huge Saints fan and never missed watching a game. She was overjoyed when The Saints won the Superbowl.
During the last stages of her illness Robin was very fortunate to be cared for by the loving and devoted staff of the Covenant Nursing Home on Magazine, New Orleans and by Hospice Compassus. The family would like to express their enormous gratitude to all the nurses and carers who contributed to make Robin's life so rich and who helped to ease her suffering in every way possible. Robin also had the great fortune to build very close friendships with some of her fellow residents many of whom have told the family that she was an inspiration to them.
A funera Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 631 State St., New Orleans on Thursday 10th March at 2:00 pm and the family would welcome everyone who wishes to attend to join us in celebrating Robin's life and commemorate her passing. Condolences may be offered at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
